What should I pack?
General - Please note that the baggage allowance between the islands is only 55lbs per person. This is 15lb less than most international carriers so it helps to pack lightly. Luggage can also be delayed on occasion, so you may wish to include your swimsuit, a change of clothes and your necessary personal items such as medications in your carry-on bag.
The atmosphere on Little Cayman is very informal, so casual attire such as shorts, t-shirts and sandals are the norm. An extra swimsuit, spf.15+ sunscreen, hat and sunglasses should be high on your list. If you are bringing camera equipment remember to bring extra batteries, film/media and charger. A hairdryer and toiletries are in each bathroom and we also provide beach towels for use around the resort and on the boats.
Divers - We provide the tanks, belts and weights. Mesh dive bags can be borrowed from the dive shop so you needn’t pack one. A wet suit or dive skin (for sun protection as well as warmth underwater) is a good idea and a Dive light if you wish to participate in the optional night dive. Please remember that spear fishing and the use of gloves are prohibited.
Your own scuba equipment should be serviced annually, so get it done before your trip. (This is also a good time to replace those computer batteries.)
Don’t forget your ‘C’ Card – you won’t be able to dive without it.
Is the water safe to drink?
We produce our own from rainwater collection and desalinization. You can safely drink water from any of the taps on the resort. Bottled water is also sold at the bar and gift shop.
Do I need Cayman Currency?
The Cayman Islands Dollar is the official currency but the US dollar is widely accepted on the islands. We accept Travelers Checks, Mastercard, Visa and American Express credit cards at the resort and purchases at the bar, diveshop and boutique etc. can all be charged to your room.
What type of electricity supply do you have?
Our power supply is very reliable and the US-style outlets in each room are 110V/60hz
What time does the restaurant and bar open?
The Bird of Paradise restaurant offers indoor and al fresco dining, serving
Breakfast 7am–8.30am
Lunch 12.30pm–1.30pm
Dinner 6.30pm–8pm.
Beach Nuts poolside bar opens daily 11.30am-11pm. The manager’s Rum Punch Party is held weekly, serving complimentary punch and hors d'oeuvres.
How can we contact home and how do they contact us?
A telephone and Internet booth is available in the lobby and there is a payphone in the courtyard available 24hrs a day. International calls can be made using a credit card, certain calling cards (AT&T etc.) or with a Cayman Cable and Wireless calling card purchased at the resort.
Should family or friends need to reach you, they can call or email the resort.

Diving schedule
Our staff will collect your gear from your door on the first morning of diving and take it to the boat. You are asked to set up your gear for the first dive but after that, our staff will take care of changing tanks after each dive.
We generally conduct two dives in the morning (boats depart at 8.30am) and one in the afternoon (boats depart at 2pm).
After your last dive of the day you can leave your gear on board and the staff will rinse your equipment. Rinse tanks and a drying room for wetsuits is situated at the end of the dock.
Dive Safety and Recompression Chamber
We dive conservatively and adhere to the buddy system.
All our boats are equipped with safety equipment including VHF radio, oxygen and first aid kit.
A recompression chamber is located in George Town Hospital on Grand Cayman. In the unlikely event of a diver exhibiting symptoms of DCS, the local EMS will evaluate the diver and arrange for air evacuation if necessary.
We strongly recommend that all divers carry Dive Accident Insurance.
We follow DAN’s Flying After Diving Guidelines and ask that a minimum pre-flight surface interval of 20 hours be observed following repetitive dives.
