Dec 06, 2006 11:35 AM By Greg & Sheryl Nisely Surface Conditions: Rough Visibility: 80-100ftft Temperature: 81° Current: Slight Well, we finally made it and have done our first day of diving.
I'm going to touch on two things - our trip to get here, and of course our first diving day. We live in Utah so we fly out of Salt Lake City to make all the connections. We had to take the Red Eye out of SLC on Sat 12/2, which makes for a long day. No problems with the flight, but the next time we do this trip we're going to fly in earlier to Atlanta and spend the night - much easier on the body, especially for us old folks! Made our connection to Grand Cayman then Cayman Air to Little Cayman. No problems along the way and all the luggage made it. Having long layovers does make it nice for the luggage. Total trip time - 12 noon on 12/2, arriving at LCBR at 4.30pm on 12/3 - see what I mean by a long day. This is our 4th trip to Little Cayman and 3rd to LCBR. We can't say enough positive things about the place. The diving is great. As far as we're concerned, this is our favourite place to dive. There's not alot of big stuff, but for overall diving, nothing beats it. I know we'll be back many more times. Today we dove Bus Stop, Blacktip Boulevard and Coconut Walk, and like all sites, they were great. The last dive was a bit surgey and it made things interesting gettin back on the boat, but like everything involved with diving, Reef Divers took perfect care of us. We saw a couple of reef sharks off The Wall, turtles and all the usual little critters. Some of the other divers saw an eagle ray, but we missed out on that. 3 great dives, just like I'm sure the rest will be. That's it. Just wanted to post a note about our travel experience and the first day of diving. If you haven't been here before, it needs to go on your list. If you have, then I'm sure you can't wait to get back. Happy diving! CommentsCategory: General | Posted By: Dive Master |
