All this has changed with my amazing week in Little Cayman at Little Cayman Beach Resort. How lucky am I to choose one of the top dive resorts in the world? Extremely lucky. From the moment the plane touched dopwn on the airstrip - which doubles as a baseball diamond - I knew I was in Paradise. Every member of staff which I encountered had a warm and friendly "hello" and inspired us all to slow down and get on Little Cayman time. The Caribbean warmth spilled over and in no time I was exalaiming "no worries!!" The food has been continuous and scrumptious. Individual staff have gone out of their way to provide us with a personalised service, always with a smile and great attitude. When it was time to dive, our crew - Captain Ron and Dottie - provided us with laughter, experise and lots of jokes! The diving is undescribable in its beauty, filling me with images that will last a lifetime. From the Resort Manager, Jim Henry, to Carmen, one of many staff, they made our stay so enjoyable and unique that it seemed as though we were now part of the family of Little Cayman Beach Resort. This vacaction will now be the measure of all future vacations and if any resort or hotel can provide HALF of the service and warmth we received this week, then they are doing well. Trips and memories like this last a lifetime and whenever I think of LCBR, a smile will come to my face and I will remember the mantra of "no worries!" Thank you LCBR and Reef Divers for being my first Caribbean experience! I'm going to touch on two things - our trip to get here, and of course our first diving day. We live in Utah so we fly out of Salt Lake City to make all the connections. We had to take the Red Eye out of SLC on Sat 12/2, which makes for a long day. No problems with the flight, but the next time we do this trip we're going to fly in earlier to Atlanta and spend the night - much easier on the body, especially for us old folks! Made our connection to Grand Cayman then Cayman Air to Little Cayman. No problems along the way and all the luggage made it. Having long layovers does make it nice for the luggage. Total trip time - 12 noon on 12/2, arriving at LCBR at 4.30pm on 12/3 - see what I mean by a long day. This is our 4th trip to Little Cayman and 3rd to LCBR. We can't say enough positive things about the place. The diving is great. As far as we're concerned, this is our favourite place to dive. There's not alot of big stuff, but for overall diving, nothing beats it. I know we'll be back many more times. Today we dove Bus Stop, Blacktip Boulevard and Coconut Walk, and like all sites, they were great. The last dive was a bit surgey and it made things interesting gettin back on the boat, but like everything involved with diving, Reef Divers took perfect care of us. We saw a couple of reef sharks off The Wall, turtles and all the usual little critters. Some of the other divers saw an eagle ray, but we missed out on that. 3 great dives, just like I'm sure the rest will be. That's it. Just wanted to post a note about our travel experience and the first day of diving. If you haven't been here before, it needs to go on your list. If you have, then I'm sure you can't wait to get back. Happy diving! Category: General | Posted By: Dive Master |
