Fishing excursions will not be available from September 10-25, 2010 and October 17 - November 14, 2010.
Little Cayman Beach Resort offers several different fishing experiences on Little Cayman for anglers of all levels and is a great way for people to experience the entire island.
Captain Jeremy Loercher is our own experienced fishing guide and brings many years of fishing experience to our island. He grew up stalking the waters of Tampa Bay and its numerous rivers, fishing for inshore species like Snook and Redfish along shorelines, open flats and river mouths. Known to travel all over Florida to fish for any "hot bite", after five years of guiding anglers in Florida, Jeremy moved to Little Cayman to fish new exciting waters. Exciting fish action is what he found in the waters of Little Cayman. A leader in establishing Little Cayman Sport Fishing at Little Cayman Beach Resort, Captain Jeremy has all the knowledge and equipment to put you in perfect position to catch that Caribbean trophy fish!
OFFSHORE FISHING
Our offshore or "Blue Water" fishing is done aboard Reel JEM, our custom designed sport fishing boat. A 26 foot Panga powered by a Yanmar turbo diesel, Reel JEM after just one year has landed many trophy fish including Mahi Mahi, Wahoo and Billfish. The run out to the fishing grounds is less than half a mile, so all your time will be spent with lines in the water. Blackfin Tuna are the most consistent game fish but Wahoo, Mahi Mahi, Yellowfin Tuna and Large Sharks are always around and the big Blue Marlin can show up at any time. Your catch can be given to one of our chefs to be prepared for you and there is nothing like sushi less than 2 hours from the time you reach the dock! So whether you want to fish with light tackle or you prefer landing your catch on 50lb stand-up gear, we are ready. Trips are usually around sunrise and sunset but any custom trips can be arranged.
$300 for 2 ½ hours Sunrise Trip
$450 for 4 hours
$800 for 8 hours
INSHORE BONE-FISHING AND FLY FISHING
Flats-fishing is available from one of our skiffs in the shallow waters of South Sound where anglers can reel in many species of inshore fish including bonefish, snapper, permit and barracuda. While you wade through the crystal blue Caribbean Sea, Captain Jeremy will help you look for tailing bonefish and permit. Once landed, we'll release your catch and save them for another day.
$230 for 4 hours
$400 for 8 hours
TARPON LAKE
Little Cayman has a very unique lake called Tarpon Pond; a land-locked lake with Tarpon that were presumably stranded many years ago during a tropical storm. Having bred here exclusively for so long, these aggressive fish can be targeted with light spinning gear or 8-9 weight fly-fishing tackle. Early morning trips with just one angler and one guide will have you back at the resort for breakfast with time to catch the dive boats for both morning dives!
$150 for 2 hours
