Nurse Shark
Nurse Sharks are bottom feeders. Their mouths are far forward from their eyes allowing them to easily bottom feed. They have two barbels (taste buds) which hang from their mouth; these allow the nurse shark to find prey trying to hide in sediment. Nurse sharks like to eat fish, mollusks, and stingrays.
Nurse Sharks are nocturnal. During the day, they are found in large inactive groups (up to 40). They tend to sleep in crevices in the reef, and groups often have a “favorite spot” that they return to every day. When they are awake, these sharks are mainly solitary.
